Do you want to have a good Easter this year? If so, one way to do so is by caring for your smile and orthodontic braces. If you care for these things, you reduce your chances of running into problems. So, our orthodontist, Dr. Ora Rosenfeld Canter, encourages you to work on having a good Easter with braces by doing the following things:
-Avoid chewy and sticky candies: Chewy and sticky candies can damage your braces. This is because they pull the brackets off the teeth and even break the wires. Chewy and sticky candies can also cling to the braces and promote dental issues, like cavities. So, please stay away from these types of treats.
-Wear a mouthguard: Sometimes Easter egg hunts can be quite intense, especially if there is money involved. So, if you’re planning on participating in a potentially dangerous Easter egg hunt, it’s best to protect your smile and braces with a mouthguard. This can help you avoid damage to your appliance and knocked-out and broken teeth.
-Clean your smile and appliance: Make sure to brush your teeth after each meal and snack and floss your teeth and rinse your mouth at least once. These things can help you remove the sugar and bacteria from your teeth, gums and appliance and help you avoid dental problems.
